Is Sonara AI Legit or a Scam?
Sonara AI is legit in the sense that it's a real job-search service that does what it claims at a basic level: it finds job openings based on your preferences and can submit applications on your behalf.
I tested the platform myself, and I was able to see jobs being matched to my profile and applications being handled through the system.
That doesn't mean I was impressed with everything it did.
One thing I noticed while using it was that automating applications also means giving up some control.
You're trusting the software to choose suitable opportunities and handle parts of an application that you might normally review carefully yourself.
That's also reflected in the feedback I found from other users.
Sonara currently has a 3.9/5 Trustpilot score from 93 reviews. Some users report that it saved them a significant amount of time and even helped them get interviews.
Others complain about irrelevant job matches, application quality, and sending large numbers of applications without receiving responses.
I wouldn't use those complaints as evidence that the service itself is fake.
Sonara's own terms clearly describe it as an AI service that searches for suitable job listings and, at the user's request, applies to those jobs on their behalf.
The company also makes it clear that it isn't an employer or recruitment agency and can't control hiring decisions made by employers.
There are still reasons to be cautious.
The Better Business Bureau currently gives Sonara an F rating and lists two complaints over the last three years, citing failure to respond to two complaints as part of the reason for that rating. It is also not BBB accredited.
That doesn't make it a scam either, but it's information I'd want to know before paying.
So my conclusion is pretty straightforward: Sonara AI is a real service, but "legit" shouldn't be confused with "effective."
Whether the automated applications actually improve your chances of getting interviews is a separate question—and that's where I think the platform deserves much closer scrutiny.
