Why Does Toloka AI Pay So Little?
The main reason comes down to how the platform is built.
This isn’t a job with an hourly rate. You’re paid per task, and most of those tasks are very small.
From what I saw, many of them paid just a few cents, even when they took a couple of minutes to complete.
The issue isn’t just the pay per task. It’s how everything adds up.
Even after completing multiple tasks, the total increased slowly. The work is broken into small pieces, and each one is priced low by design.
Another factor is how many people are using it. Since almost anyone can complete these tasks, there’s a lot of competition. That keeps the pay low.
I also noticed that some tasks took longer than expected. What looked quick at first sometimes required extra steps, which made the actual earnings even lower.
On top of that, tasks weren’t always available. Even if I wanted to earn more, there wasn’t always something to complete.
From my experience, the low pay isn’t a mistake. It’s how the system works:

low requirements
high competition
limited availability
That combination makes it hard to increase your earnings, even if you spend more time on it.
